Default chemically relaxed hair and hair loss

I am 27 years old and chemically relaxed my hair once when I was 18 and a second time when I was about 21. The second time around I suffered minor burns from it. As of now my hair loss is about a norwood 3, with aggressive loss around my temples and crown area. Although it is progressively thinning out on top, I still have a decent amount of hair on the top of my head. Is it possible that chemically relaxing my hair has led to this? I do not recall my hair falling out at the time of relaxing it. I really started noticing the effects of hair loss around 23. I did take the hairdx test a while back and I was told that I have a moderate predisposition to mbp. If this is truly caused by chemicals, wouldn't it be more diffuse? Would a hair transplant still be a viable option?

Hindsight is always 20/20 and I now wish I wasn't so stupid in using that harsh stuff on my head.

It sounds like this is just hereditary hair loss (MPB). Norwood 3 isn't so bad and as long as you can arrest it, you might gain some back since you are so young. Talk to a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. Try treating it for a year or two and see what happens. It takes at least a year to be able to tell if you can arrest your hair loss. It takes longer to find out if you can reverse any of it.
