first of all hi im new

im 26 and have been loosing hair slowly scince i was 19. id say im about a 3.5-4 on the scale now

i started cutting my losses and shaving my head about 4 years ago when i was about a 2 on the scale. i liked it and apparently so did girls as i noticed getting more since... the thing is now theres noticibly less to shave, my hair line has retreated further and i look at least 32

i want my hairline bk but i still want to shave my head. is this possible with hair transplant? most before/afters only show long hair.

beard hair isnt an option lol it is bright ginger and doesnt match my dirty blonde head hair... bht mayby.

I don't understand why a man who shaves his head would bother but... You would need to see a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. You also need to try to manage your hair loss. With the current treatments available, you are not likely to regrow a full head of hair, especially the hair line if that area is totally void of hair. You would probably be able to stabilize and arrest your hair loss though. You are young and your hair loss is relatively recent. It is worth the effort to try for a year or two. Maybe by the time you have treated your hair loss for a couple of years, we will be two years closer to minimally invasive regenerative solutions for hair loss.

Currently, the only products that work to treat hereditary hair loss are:

Rogaine - or generic Minoxidil.

Propecia - or generic Finasteride (for men)

Anti-androgens (for women)

Low level laser therapy

These treatments above do not work for everyone. Some people will get results from one or more of these treatments, while others will not get any results from any of these treatments. A male with your degree of hair loss should take a combination approach to treatment. The "Big three" are Propecia (1mg Finasteride), Rogaine (Minoxidil) and Nizoral (Ketoconazole). Talk to your doctor. These are probably your best bet, but talk to a doctor who specializes in treating hair loss. It wouldn't hurt to try low level laser therapy for four months. It will either improve your hair or it won't but it takes about four months to find out if it will help.

If after treating your hair loss for a full year (or two) you will know if you have stabilized it. At that point, you might be fine with your hair line. If not, then consider transplant surgery. However, using body hair is the absolute last of the last resort. If you are currently a 4, you are no where near a last resort case. Minimally invasive regenerative solutions are on the way. It might be worth your while to manage your hair loss for now and wait for those minimally invasive regerative solutions to become available.

Good HT in good hands is the best. Dont take medications that plays with yr male hormones,

if you have good bht its awsome, dr umar can transfer that on the top, since you buzz yr hair it wont be noticable at all....he fixes some totaly screwed up cases

or maybe go to hasci and see if they can fix you up...think they do BHT as well

A body hair transplant is the absolute last of the absolute last resort. The OP stated that he is a NW4. A body hair transplant is not even remotely appropriate for a person who is only a NW4. Jumping straight to hair transplant surgery without even trying to manage hair loss is foolish enough. Jumping to body hair transplant without even trying a proper scalp hair transplant first is beyond foolish. There are no words in any language that sufficiently describes how foolish that is.

OP wants to shave his head so Im not sure that any FUE/FUT doc can make it happen without leaving either white dots or liner scar at the back of his head.

That only leaves him dr gho(if it works) or BHT

Once you do FUE or FUT you can no longer shave...

The OP is only 26 years old. He will probably change his mind about how he wears his hair more than a few times during his life.

Body hair transplant is the last of the last resort - after every other possible option has been exhausted. Performing a body hair transplant on a person who has not done anything else to try to manage hair loss would be unethical.

people with a shaved head still have a hair line. and a receeding hairline negativly excentuates the age a person looks.

im a 3v, i started using minoxidle and id say it definatly has slowed but i want something more permanent.

as regards propecia, im not really willing to take gambles with my labido. porn is one of my favorite pass times.

im not bothered about the scars.. but ill mention why in anothother thread as it raises another question. the reason i asked is because i havnt seen many results of HT's where people are sporting short hair, most of the pics i have seen seem to sport a sophisticated come over, which although looks verry good is not quite the same.

Are you aware that if you go forward with hair transplant surgery that you will still need to use medications to maintain your hair?
