Damn confused?!

Ok so when my hair is long (0,79 inches and above) my head looks completly normal. When i get a buzzcut (0,12-0,24) inches it still looks normal but when my hair is starting to get long after having been really short (between 0,24 and 0,79 inches) it looks like i'm having a diffuse thinning at the top?! And i'm not loosing any hair whatsoever. So WTF is going on?! Is it normal for the hair to look like that till it gets long?
