Red face FUE or Strip. Any good doctors? 23yrs old diffused thinning. Pics

    Hi guys

Since age 14 my hair started thinning. I am now 23 years old and my hair loss is pretty advanced. I am looking into taking a leap into hair transplant surgery to at least have a good dense frontal hair line.

I am considering the following doctors, sent my pictures in (attached to this thread):

    - Dr. Rahal
    - Hasson & Wong
    - Dr. Feller

I wanted to get some feedback on my hair loss and any experience/suggestions with the above. Also I am open minded to other doctors who have a good track record who I may also request consultation.

If you are a doctor would you give me some advice as far as procedure (FUE vs. Strip) and number of grafts recommended. I am looking for dense packing, front hair line as a priority.

PS I have tried Minox and Propecia. It stopped the hairloss but no improvement on regrowth in the frontal temples. Most of the benefits went to the crown. I consider myself a NW6 but I may be mistaken.

    Thanks

Did you stop using the treatments? It sounds like you had success with them and considering how young you are it is very important to try and halt further loss.

    I would say you're about a NW4 with a NW5 pattern developing. Not a NW6.

If you decide to move forward with a hair restoration procedure I would strongly recommend only having work done in the frontal area. At your age it is not wise to start have graftging done in the crown until later. You will likely need to start with at least 2000 FU's to establish a hair line and add some density to the frontal area. Because of the potential in your case of needing more transplants in the future not to mention the price difference I think you would be better suited for a strip because it will not change the density of the remaining donor area.

I am not a doctor so will only give my 2 cents worth.

As mentioned you seem to be a NW4 heading to be NW5 or maybe 6 one day. Considering your age you should be very care full what you do.

Get on the medication and wait to see if it stops your hair loss for minimum 6-12 months. Do not do anything else than research until then.

Choose a top doctor - seem you are on top of that.

Read some of the threads here on FUE vs FUT, and keep in mind if you prefer long hairstyle or short hairstyles... if you like your current length - you should go for FUT/Strip 2500-3000. If you look more long term and want to be sure to frame the face but still be able to cut your hair very short one day - I would go for 2000-2500 FUE (probably only Rahal or Feriduni can do this in one go)...

Keep in mind that you need to hit a mature headline that will work also when you are 45 or 50.

    Good luck.
