    Shedding

I've had great results with propecia (been on it for many years) but the last year and a half or so, it's been losing it's effectiveness.

I was holding great with just .25 mg propecia every night before bed but have really started to thin in the front and temples.

I bumped up to 1mg for 2 months....no change, still losing

So now I'm on 1.25 mg per day for exactly 4 weeks....still losing

Isn't it true that hair is on a 100 day cycle.... so the hair that i'm losing today is a result of the damage from dht 100 days ago?

Wouldn't it be true that to really know, I need to wait 100 days after I've started with the 1.25 mg?

If not, how long should a person wait on a specific treatment before making any changes?

I remember Spencer saying that uping the dose can get a person back on track but he didn't say how long to wait before knowing for sure the results.

    Thanks

    Where did you hear this?

The telogen phase (which is the period where the follicle is resting) lasts for about 100 days, and it's when they're in this phase that hairs will shed. Maybe that's what you heard.

In total you've been on a higher dose for around 3 months. In a way it's like starting on the drug again so it's possible that any benefits will take time. 3 months isn't necessarily enough.
