Transection

Does anyone know whether any hair-transplant surgeons, besides Dr. Gho, are trying to perform F.U.E. with transection, in the hope of achieving in-vitro follicle-multiplication? I know Dr. Bernstein was going to conduct some research into this, but I'm unsure what became of it.
