Thumbs up Going to document 1 yr propecia starting today

    Hey all,

26yo male here, experiencing balding norwood class 5 (according to 1 bosley rep).

Been losing hair since a young age, probably around 19. Never really cared too much until I shaved it all to a number 1 and realized I had a problem. This was 2 years ago.

I only used rogaine foam for 6 months, then just started going with hats allll the time.

Well, now that I'm 26, I'm sick of wearing hats all the time so I took the first step and got a prescription for Propecia from a dermatologist. I literally started taking it today[/B][/B].

I've included some pictures that show 1 month progress of hair growth with current condition. I've blacked out my face in some pictures in an attempt to keep my identity hidden.

After a year of propecia, given that there are positive results, I am seriously considering paying for an HT. They are expensive, though, so that's why I'm seeing if Propecia can do anything for me in the mean time.

The pictures date back to the beginning of September when I had 1 week of hair growth up to today, when I shaved it all down to a number 2.

They are in numerical order from 1-26 and showcase about 1.5 months of hair growth.

I plan on taking pictures every 2 weeks, shaving down to a number 2 and documenting my Propecia progress.

I also exercise every other day and take multivitamins & fish oil.

Wish me luck! These pills aren't cheap!

    JO

Before you go any further with propecia, you may want to check out these links:

Also, you may notice that in the last two days - propecia.com is down and they have a very BOLD link for reporting side effects to the FDA

    Good luck whatever you choose

    Question OK

    Thanks for the response SBTRKT.

These videos make me want to stop taking this pill immediately... however I'm sure it's a bit sensationalized.

Is anyone knowledgeable in this area, or can they link to some cold, hard statistics as to the number / type of men who suffer ill consequences of Propecia?

I already forked over the cash for 1 month supply but will gladly quit if I feel threatened by these potential side effects. I've only taken 2 pills so far...

The chances of developing permanent side effects are low. Unfortunately i am in the small group of men that have been chemically castrated and who knows what it has done to my brain

If you want some studies to show you that finasteride is not good for any male then here you go

    Preventing erections and priapism

    Causing cancer

    Depression

    Causing erectile dysfunction

There are many more if you wish to search for them

There isn't all that much to sensationalize really. A group of 60 or so men have been made impotent due to finasteride, a young man has killed himself and one guy is just describing how his brain to penis connection has gone. I can relate.

Thanks, SBTRKT. These are some great links.

Slightly thicker hair is definitely not worth this...
