    had my first consultation

on Friday i had my first consultation with both a consultant and the surgeon at a hair clinic here in the UK with Mr Haseeb.
they were very helpful with no hard sell. ive done much research and i think they were quite taken aback.
i also requested a meeting with other patients and i actually was permitted into the theatre to chat to a guy who was having a procedure at the time.
i had a long chat (1 1/2 hours) including a discussion/examination with the surgeon. i also underwent an exam under the Proscope to check the condition of my scalp and measure the density of my donor area.
after measuring the area i am interesting in transplanting (temple area) they reckoned about 640 to 800 grafts.
so im waiting for an email and the photos of my head (which i'll stick up on here)...
the donor scar would be approx 8cm by 1cm just as a point of reference.
i still undecided, and am keep to have a consultation with Dr. Farjo
    any thoughts?

    hi,

I have never heard of the guy TBH and ive been around a few years. Consult with several clinics globally and get a good feel for your actual requirements.

640 - 800 grafts is 1. a strange number to quote 2. Very small number of grafts i presume this is FUE your were offered ?

Get your pics up and feel free to email them over to me if you would like Dr Fellers and Dr Lindseys opinion.

      thanks spex.
the number ws 640 for my temple region, the others were to thicken into the sides of my frontal area totalling up to approx 800.
Haseeb is fairly well known in the UK, and is also a plastic surgeon for the NHS.

the choice of FUE or FUT was not pushed either way TBH, although i think if i proceeded i would probably opt for FUT.

        Hi,

For such a small number if this is what is required should really be FUE mate IMHO.

I must admit never heard of the guy.

            funkyrimpler,

            Quite the handle you have!

Anyway, it sounds like your hairloss is minimal. Have you started finasteride to save what you do have?

The numbers are very small and hardly worth getting in the OR. Yet, that is my opinion and you may still want the restoration.

600-800 grafts will not make a big visual difference IMHO. You might want to consider waiting it out to see how you respond to the hairloss meds.
