man boobs with minoxidil. how to counter?

i have a bad case of the man boobs, i seriously think it is because of minoxidil. enlarging breasts seems to be directly proportional to the amount of time i've been taking it (around 2 yrs) with no other weight gain.

what is the process minoxidil does, something to do with DHT getting blocked? which causes less testosterone (or more estrogen?) and develops the breasts.

will beta sitosterol and pumpkin seeds counter that? and more importantly (so i can understand myself) why does it counter it (if it does?)

also: if it will, would it counter too far and make hair start falling out again?

this is giving me brain damage, can't work it out. seems to be conflicting reports.

can i somehow still have the DHT-blocking effects of minoxidil without the breasts?

can anyone explain? thanks for any input!

    found this

    http://www.*************.com/23/beta-sitosterol/

It is thought that beta sitosterol has estrogen blocking effects. High estrogen levels in men are strongly linked with balding and a whole host of other nasties (prostate problems and man boobs!)

but can minoxidil cause higher estrogen, through the process it does to alter your hormone levels?

also have heard that pumpkin seeds can stop man boobs AND help hair grow.

    isn't this a paradox??

      I can see that...

Male breast enlargement is not a side effect of Minoxidil. Minoxidil is a Vasodilator. Minoxidil does not block DHT.

I agree with Tracy C and highly doubt that Minoxidil was the cause of any breast enlarement. You should have your hormone levels checked because elevated estrogen levels can cause breast enlargement and has a lot of other potential negative effects.

It says right on the bottles that Minoxidil (Rogaine) can cause unexplained weight gain. Does that mean breast enlargement (moobs), they tend to hide the actual info. However, from personal experience, I can attest it to be true and even more so far areas previously exposed to other growth hormones (steroids). If you experience this or other side effects like chest pain, you should stop using it. Tapering off slowly is important though because all your hair is on the same growth cycle and it will shed all at once causing rapid hair loss that is difficult to recover from.
