Exactly. Finasteride has a very short half life. Your impotence may be the result of something else.

    You are an idiot.

I was a very healthy 18 year old that would have sex up to 10 times in a night with girlfriends before i touched finasteride. I had also never experienced random anxiety, brain fog, clicking joints and diagnosed prostatitis.

Yeah, i suddenly just came down with all these issues?

Finasteride may have a short half life but you are reducing the most vital male hormone DHT. Unfortunately, this has lead to lifelong consequences for thousands of men including myself.

The real problems come after QUITTING the drug. I never experienced any severe side effects ON the drug.

    Have you ever visited propeciahelp.com?

Have you seen all the lawsuits against Merck?

Have you tried to go onto propecia.com recently? Merck have taken the site down and added a link to reporting side effects to the FDA - damage control in preparation for the lawsuits

So why did you quit if you had no side effects?

    I'm just saying...

    1) you don't know for certain it was Propecia that has made you impotent
    2) you claim thousands have been "affected" while many millions are actually on the drug
    3) I'm not saying that DHT is not useful in the body, I'm just saying that finasteride does not stop all of it. Vitamin D is useful in the body too buy you know what the body only produces it when it's sunny!

I used the term 'severe'. I did experience side effects such as watery semen and testicle ache but my mind was warped by these damn hair loss forums and i was lead to believe that such symptoms were standard procedure or something.

I quit the drug because i was concerned about the side effects i just mentioned and i visited a doctor about something completely different and he asked about my hair loss and recommended minoxidil. I informed him that i was using finasteride and he told me to quit the drug right away because anti androgens are bad news for men. So, a doctor and my family warned me about finasteride so i called it quits.

The 'post finasteride crash' is well documented on propeciahelp.com. It is fairly obvious what caused my problems. There are 5 university institutions investigating persistent side effects now. Merck have also taken the propecia.com website down and replaced it with a link to report side effects.
