Has anyone tried Spironolactone for men's hairloss
I came across an article which suggests Spiro for women's hairloss. I wanted to ask if any men have been able to halt their hairloss with Spiro.
Would the sides of Spiro (ED & brain fog) be slightly better or worse than finesteride ?

I have never used Spironolactone in a male patient. I am not even convinced of its effectiveness in females.

Hello Dr. Glenn,
Thanks for the reply. I guess if it is not effective, then it would be a situation where one would have to deal with sides, without even being sure of the positive effects.
However, if I wanted to try it out in low doses, purely as an experiment to see if there is any benefit, then would it have all the sides which many people are reporting for finesteride?
- ED
- Cognitive Issues
Would taking Estrogen actually raise Testestorone and free Testestorone levels, thus actually increasing hair loss ?
Thanks for your help.

It is hard to say a what dose a patient will have side effects. It is usually a trial and error situation. I do not think that taking Estrogen is a good idea.
