    Reconstruction of a crown area through FUE – performed by Dr. Feriduni – 1499 FU

    Follicular Unit Transplantation performed on a 40 year old Caucasian male with:

    - NW II vertex class N
    - Donor density of ~ 96-104 FU/cm2
    - Hair diameter of ~ 59 microns

    Treatment plan:

    A Follicular Unit Transplantation with 1499 FU to restore the crown area.
    This patient suffered from minor hair loss at the temples but this did not bother him, his main goal was to reconstruct his crown area with good density.

    Performed procedure (July 13, 2007):
    A Follicular Unit Extraction with 1499FU in a single day session
    * 674 single hair FU
    * 825 double hair FU

    Extraction performed with a 0,95 mm FUE punch with Versi handle™.
    Parallel incisions (single and double units) were made in custom-sized blades technique (~Cutting Edge blades of 0,85 mm).

    Very nice job as always doc. I see this man has very good donor density. Do you believe he could continue to tackle his hairloss with FUE alone over the years? I have seen papers by Dr. Cole, a big advocate of FUE as you know, that says that close to 9000 by FUE alone may be possible by thinning one's donor close to 50% over a long period of time. I always believed that we could deplete the donor by 30% and get maybe 6000 with FUE before we have donor thinning issues. What's your opinion on this doc?

    Also do you see HST having a legitimate future? A lot of us on the forum don't know what to make of it. In theory it seems like it's legitimate but we're dubious of the consistency and efficacy in practice. I know FUE was unfairly discredited by some in the industry in it's early years but I don't know if HST will prove to be as successful in the long run.
