Dr. Patrick Mwamba / 45 Year Old / 3500 Grafts FIT

3500g FIT shaven ‘megasession’. There are so many factors that play a role in providing coverage. Contrast is greater between darker hair and lighter skin tones whereas lighter hair color against the lighter skin tones give the illusion of fuller hair. You cannot see the contrast in color between the scalp and hair. Also to be considered is whether your hair is straight and fine or curly, wavy or coarse. The coarse, curly and wavy hairs gives more coverage. We also consider the calculated density (number of hairs per natural graft) and pattern of placement to increase the effect of optimal coverage.

This 45 year old patient who was a Norwood 4 had a goal of treating the Frontal Hairline , middle and vertex with FUE. Density was secondary. Results – very good density and a natural result.

    His donor density was 80fu/cm2.

We grafted 2000 grafts to the FHL, 500 to the Vertex, and 1,000 to the crown. This was one surgery.

Very nice result! So Dr. Mwamba specializes in FUE only?

Dr. Mwamba also performs STRIP procedures. Dr. Mwamba is privileged to have learned and mastered the art of total microscopic Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT). He is also proud to be one the early developers and pioneers of the minimally invasive Follicular Isolation Technique (FIT), also known as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). Due to the huge demand for FIT/FUE, Dr. Mwamba’s work is largely dedicated to this elegant procedure.

Dr. Mwamba performs both STRIP and FUE. He believes that the two techniques are complementary and what matters the most is the final results. He has 11 years of experience with STRIP and about 8 years in FUE.
