Starting to get depressed and loosing hope (PLEASE take a look)

Ok so as far as I'm told i've always had thin/fine hair (born with it) but at the age of 17 i started loosing some hair, it wasen't that bad so i just thought " not a big deal". Last summer (age 20) i was on vacation where the shedding accelerated drastically! I lost like 200 hairs a day (i'm serious!)!

As soon as i got back home and stopped using nizoral my hair sheddign was far less significant. But then I noticed that i had lost a big deal og volume in my hair, it had gotten thinner.

So one day after taking a bath I took a little mirror (hand size one) and used it to look at my crown so i could reflect the picture on the big mirror (under the influence of light) in the bathroom, and guess what, my crown area is thin as shit! Seriously i know my hair, it wasen't like that 3 years ago, the thinning is REALLY bad.

My hairline is the exact same as 3 years ago but the crown is thinning! I've been using regaine (rogaine) for almost one year now, but i did stop the treatment for 4 months and started again, but only applying once (but with no change on my crown) with no effect! I have now started the minox treatment again applying it 2 times a day. And i'm not gonna use Fin or proscar or wahtever it's called, i won't sacrifice my sexlife for some hair.

My shedding is still the same as 2 years ago. Shedding when applying anything to my scalp, combing, washing, shampooing etc. If i had to guess i'd say i'm loosing around 120-140 (around 50 in the morning, 50 at evenning, and around 50 if i take a bath etc.) hairs a day. I've also noticed that the hair i'm shedding is thin hairs aswell as thick hairs.

So should just let MPB **** up my life, and give up? I'm so sick and tired of worrying all the time! I'm sad all the time, angry, worried

I'm only 21 goddammit this isn't fair! And yes my dad is bald, all of my uncles are bold, my grand parents, hell even my mom has a thin crown (****ing genetics!)

Almost forgot 9-10 moths ago i buzzed (6mm=0,24 inches) my hair, and it looked like this:

When you stopped using Regaine and you lost more hair, did you start using it again?

I'm pretty much in the same position. I used Rogaine for 7 years and had phenomenal results. But over those years I used it very inconsistently. I'd go months without it but didn't seem to lose any ground because I'd start using it again. Then I noticed last november that my hair was incredibly thin. So I'm not sure if it thinned out because of my usage pattern or that I developed a tolerance to it. During the time I noticed it had thinned again, I'd actually been using it fairly frequently - certainly more than when I'd travelled about 2 years earlier for several months and didnt use it at all. That's what makes me think it's a tolerance thing.

So I've been using Rogaine religiousy since last November and started Proscar in february. No improvement. Don't know if I should even be bothering with Rogaine anymore.

You could, go to the fifteen percent, did you ever use it on your hairline?

Not sure where to get 15% from. They don't sell it in pharmacies here.

Yep, I used Regaine on my hairline and it worked there. It worked all over. I didn't even apply it to the back of my crown but it seemed to work there too. I was a hyper responder if ever there was one.

Man I Know what you feel like but seriously try to live with what you being given. I feel pretty bad too some times and I understand you're too young to what's happening, but what you can do right now is visit an specialist and start some treatment to help stop it, but most importantly you have to work in your mind. Try to forget about it and live your life without worries.

Your hair still does look completely good

A few things to make you feel better..

                        1. I am 21, balding rapidly (although persistant side effects from finasteride have halted it) i am impotent, i cannot sleep properly, i have chronic fatigue, muscle loss, 0 libido - all thanks to finasteride

                        2. please watch this video about a british explorer who was blind - got over that and trekked to the south pole, weeks later he ended up paralyzed as well

I am just randomly posting this here because i was depressed about my hair too. I couldn't care less anymore, it doesn't come close to losing your sexuality and manliness, dignity and pride.

Ok i think i need to make somthing clear:

I have now been on rogaine (5% liquid) for 22 days, and the shedding is reduced significantly! I'm now loosing like 6 hairs everytime i apply somthing to my scalp. The shedding has almost stopped! I'm just glad i caught it in time, i'm only 21 and my hairloss is not even noticeable unless i get a buzzcut. Right now my hair is back to normal length and there is no sign og MPB!

I'm happy as hell! And i'm pretty sure that the hairs i lost due to the initial shedding around 300-500 (I think) will most likely grow back!
