I did tell two different stories, but there is no contradiction. Like many men I experimented with finasteride on different occasions and developed side effects at different points throughout dosing. It would be quite a snoozer to explain the entire chronology and saga of my Propecia usage and I have spared you up to this point but I will elaborate a little bit more to explain the misperceived contradiction. During my entire Propecia usage history I was advised by several different doctors and tried it on different occasions. You will see it is quite common for guys to try the drug, develop side effects, and go for another experiment.

Insensitivity and mild erectile dysfunction came within a few days of taking the drug that never went away but was not so overwhelming that it caused me to seek serious medical assistance. After trying the drug later and experimenting with different doses at different times, the side effects rendered me completely impotent and have only moderately rebounded since. Even this is quite an oversimplification of the complex sequence with which I have experienced side effects, improved in some areas, worsened in others, and unsuccessfully sought medical treatment from a variety of specialists.

You ask me what I expect to get out of this and I have already told you my goal is to inform guys of the possible risks. Again, I am not involved in any of the current litigation, I do not work for anything that could resemble a Propecia competitor, and I am not here because I am bored. Ask yourself, why would anybody bother to visit a message board to warn people of the dangers of a random drug? I personally have been damaged and am extremely angry at Merck for fraudulently misrepresenting their product. Part of the venting process is to let me story out into the public and prevent other men from having it happen to them unknowingly.

What happened with your sides? It's kind of unusual to only get them once your off the drug. I wonder what the physiological explanation of that is?
Actually no, it's not unusual. Side effects OFF the drug is what post finasteride syndrome is

    Propeciahelp.com

Sufferers often don't get major side effects on the drug, or if they do they resolve for a week or two after quitting and the the body crashes. From there onwards, most are screwed permanently.

Truthfully my lack of erections and decreased sex drive is a worry. But right now I dont need a sex drive with my girlfriend overseas. As I still socialize frequently it's more important to keep my hair for now.

Let's hope that the side effects don't come back to bite you if you come off the drug.

I used to wake up everyday I wasn't working, with an erection and masturbate. My memories or imagination allowed it. Now when i try to think of something saucy i can't get it up. I can watch porn and masturbate though but I do that rarely. I used to get erections several times throughout the day even for no reason, but I don't anymore. I haven't been in a position where sex has been an option for a few months so I'm not sure how my willy will respond when I'm in a sexual situation next time.

If I were you, I'd take a week or more off from all hairloss forums. Then evaluate whats happening with an open mind, that is also take into consideration any change in life style, without obsessing over sides or no sides.
If in the end you're convinced its definitely the Finasteride, then I would stop taking the drug, I mean if this was me, in your shoes.
Frankly I would also speak with a Doctor, but as some people on this forum claim that Doctors aren't up to date with the sides, perhaps they are right. But its good to hear an opinion, I mean you don't have to necessarily do what he or she says.

But that just my opinion (I am not an expert from any standards), you should obviously do what you think is best.

3 months in Propecia. Some sex drive and watery semen effects during the 3rd month but now I'm good. I'm 33 yo.

Just an update to my erections/sex drive for those who may be interested.

I had some unexpected drunken sex on Saturday night with a girl I met that night. And I had no problems having sex with her several times in the same night. She even commented that I was erect the whole time, even between sessions. So that made me feel better about things.

Still not waking up with erections or getting spontaneous ones like I used to but I was able to perform when I needed to so I'm not as worried right now.

Good for you!! It seems you have no reason to worry. Please don't get stuck in the situation where you are worrying, and the worrying leads to problems which leads to more worrying like a self fulfilling prophecy.

What matter is you performed great when you needed to, which is great.
