    Good Idea??

Ok so I'm 17 and at a norwood one. I decided I'm going to try out Rogaine, and know if I do ill have to use this sh** for ever. Recently I've found Dr. Lee's website minoxidilsolutions offering all different types of things including Rogaine 6% with finasteride. I don't want to start taking propecia, and this finasteride seems different since it's applied to the scalp through a solution. I know Dr. Lee has gotten shut down before and if he does again i'm scared that I might have to stop treatment. My question is, should I just start off with regular Rogaine Foam, or should I start off with Dr. Lee's rogaine 6% solution?

    Hi Sam

I would say Rogaine Foam all the way. I used to buy 12.5% Minoxidil from a Uk Clinic, then switched to a similar alternative with Dr Lee (******* 12.5%). I used this once daily (1ml). I switched to the Foam (twice daily) several months ago and have not looked back. It is far easier to apply and even feels likes a styling product. It is not greasy, sticky and dries within a minute.

By the way, if you are a Norwood one I doubt you have any loss, unless it is a diffuse pattern or crown loss?

Yea but I'm trying to stay at a NW1. I have fine hairs, but a lot of them. So thinning would be horrible for me.

I hear that mate. Prevention is better than cure but generally speaking a Norwood 1 means no significant loss. Do yourself a favour and see an expert. Get a hair bulk analysis on the differing parts of your scalp to ascertain where you are. A good IAHRS doctor should be able to do this for you. You never know, it could be a better result than you think. My younger brother would most likely claim he is at your stage and he has no loss whatsoever!! A cautious approach is wise but at least find out what you are up against. Either way, I sincerely wish the best of luck to you!

Thanks. I've been thinking about it but I would have to track to find an expert I will look around.

8868alex. Like many I am looking for a replacement for ******* 15. You wrote this back in March. Do you still stand by your comment then? I had been on ******* 15 for years and had come to trust Richard Lee and his products.

A long thread on another forum from people switching to the foam from the Rogaine liquid started with favourable reviews, and after 4-5 months, they became increasingly less favourable.

I have to use non-PG. Most comment on the 15% Minoxidil/5% Azeliac acid solutions available on Ebay, etc. are not favourable. Many are very unfavourable.

It would be good to get your current view.
