Center parting of one's hair style is more predominant with women overall compared to men.
In the late 60's and most of the 70's, my hair was grown straight, parted in the center and down to my back in length. I was a hippie man! Many, many late teens and young men wore their hair that way back then.
Now, many guys buzz their head.
