Ok to take Cimetidine (Brand name: Tagamet) after hairloss?
I recently had a hair transplant (20 days ago). I have a few plantar's warts on my foot that I was neglecting to treat. I went to the dermatologist and they recommended cimitedine/Tagamet (800mg/day) and an OTC topical treatment.
I asked my Hair Transplant doctor and they said it was up to me if I wanted to take it or not. Cimitedine has shown to have anti-androgenic effects and has been recommended for some women for treatment of hairloss. My doctor said that it can contribute to hairloss.
I am very confused, is it ok to take? I can't find any research on the topic.
