How often do you wash you hair, a day?

Especially for those with thinning hair (and are on minoxidil and/or finasteride)?

Those who wash your hair 2 times a day, in the morning (and use hair products to style it) and then at night before applying minoxidil, please share your experience.

I want to know if you find while washing your hair each time, more shedding or less.

    Thank you.

Have you ever looked at the brush of a fully haired women? Did you know that even the thickest heads of hair can shead near 100 hairs per day or more? One of the largest misuderstandings on hair loss is shedding. There is no way to tell whether shedding is helping or hurting hair. Even if you experience less of it one day and more the next it really is not a good indicator of a products effectiveness. It certainly wont tell you anything about the health of your hair by checking the same day. The reason for this really is simple and it involves the basic hair cycle. Because your hair goes through several stages before falling out monitoring that falling out will not tell you anything more then what you were doing at the beginning of that hairs cycle. Not to mention that different hairs go through different cycles with a communication so complex science really does not understand it at all. If you find something that consistantly stops shedding (feel free to check my forum Male Pattern Baldness Cured by ResearchNeverFails) frequently for weeks then there is no way too tell if your routine anything at all. As for hair regrowth goes the only important factor are new terminal hairs regrowing any other indicator is not accepted as usefull information such as hair shedding.

It's worth pointing out that a person with very dense hair has more follicles on their scalp and therefore more follicles will be entering the telogen phase at the same time.

FWIW I wash my hair once daily. I'd be a NW6 by now if the 20+ hairs I see floating in the tub after shampooing were not being replaced during the many years since I first took notice of this.

I used to wash it twice a day morning/night and now I do it just at night but I can't tell a difference.

This is a little off topic but.........
I found something that might help everyone. I have been applying minox twice a day for years after the morning application I never had a problem. when I applied in the evening on a dry scalp i got an unbearable itch every morning. So now I rinse my hair and scalp at night by gently pouring water on it and the itch went away.
