Post Op itching
Hello everyone,
I am 4 days post op FU strip HT. I am not having any pain anymore, but I am having alot of itching at the incision and recipient sites. My Dr. told me to wash my hair daily by patting baby shampoo over the sites and rinsing with a cup. I wasn't told anything about itching. Anyone have good advice to help relieve this itching that wont mess up the grafts? Thanks in advance.

The itching is a good sign of healing going on. It is normal. Keeping the area moist can help the itching sensation. But it does not sound like your doc recommended anything post-op other than the shampoo?
I have heard from various patients over the years that "baby shampoo", specificallly the product made by Johnson & Johnson, can promote the itching sensation.
Try contacting your doc for another product that he may recommend.
Just be careful not to scratch your sutures or the recipient area.

Thanks for your response...the itching seems to have minimized a lot today...I am about to wash my hair today and I'll see if it gets any worse after washing..I also got some saline solution and a large syringe from work that I will use to moisten the sites if they start itching again..

I had my hair transplant last month. I itched a lot the first 8 days or so. I put aloe vero gel in the donor area and it helped. I also had to take tylenol before sleeping for that week.

Glad to see you are getting some resolve.
