Hairline Recession (28)
Hi, I came across this forum so I figured I would post a few pics and get some advice. My dad is balding but not sure if he is completly bald since he has been on rogain and propecia for years. My Dad's Father is totally balled but my Mom's dad had a full head of hair at 86 before he died but who knows how true the Mom's side thing is these days.
Anyways I feel like im going bald, not a huge shedder but not sure what constitutes "shedding". My dad keeps commenting that I'm losing my hair but that could be him projecting his insecurities. Wife says my hair looks fine but she doesn't really know. Therefore im turning to the forum. I am not really into taking meds forever, I have been on the Saw Palmetto and Niacin mix for about 3 months and I have no idea if it is doing anything. My hair does seem alot thicker though. Anywas what do you all think? She I start the propecia?
Pic 1: Gel in hair in the bathroom
Pic 2: Sitting normal
Pic 3: Another pic with gel in hair but not as much as Pic 1
Pic 4: Pulling back hair

what does this even mean? he is either bald or he isnt.
it looks like u have a little hairline recession so propecia could help.

I see a small amout of recession in the lateral portion of the hairline. I do not think other people would notice it the way you style your hair unless you pull it back with your hand like in the photo. Not sure if Propecia has enough benefit in the frontal/hairline area to make it worth it for you.

So do you suggest I just wait and see if I start to lose hair in the back and then think about it? Nothing I can do for the front? What about those laser combs?

mature hairline NW2 not balding from the pics

If it stays there, you are just fine. Stay off the Propecia. If it starts moving towards a NW3 pattern, time to panic

Are your father's comments about your hairline or does he think you've lost density elsewhere? Often people will come here reporting that someone has told them they are going bald and so often there is no real hairloss to be seen and the comments are just misinformation, but other times people notice things about us that we ourselves miss.
Based on just seeing photos of how you look now, I'd agree with the others that you are a NW2. Possibly just a mature hairline but it could progress.

"Waiting" for hair loss to get worse is the biggest mistake that men do.
I waited for my hair loss to get worse before starting to take it really seriously, take it from a 22 year old who started early hair loss and has less hair than you: Waiting is not cool.
Do something now, or you'll regret it.
BTW, I see receding temples, and some receding on the hairline. But have very thick hair and is hair loss is not noticeable because you can cover your recession with your thick hair, which you won't have if you wait for it to all fall. Really, hair can be there one day, and be gone the next day just like that, figuratively speaking of course.
Not trying to worry you, just if you signed up here it's because you're already worried enough and concerned, so you do care about your hair. So do something about it.

Update of Hairline.
So I wanted to update since the last time I posted. It's been almost a year since my last post and here is where I am at?
Should I start taking propecia/rogian?
I have been doing the saw palmetto and biotin natural route for about a year now but it doesn't look like its making any difference. Maybe I'm paranoid but I figured I would turn to the group. Should I start with just rogain/minox before I go to the full blown propecia?
