    Gene Therapy?

Correct me if I'm wrong. If they locate whatever "gene" that is causing a certain disease, can't they fix it by gene therapy? Didn't they discover the gene that causes hair loss few years ago?

What Histogen is doing is a form of gene therapy, using proteins to stimulate certain intracellular pathways to induce new hair follicles - sounds cool - gene therapy in general is very very... very complicated - the net result of some types of gene therapy have been tragic - there are millions of knock-on effects that can occur by just altering some genes in the human body, finding which genes have been affected is like trying to search for a needle in a haystack blindfolded whilst wearing boxing gloves.
