Dr. Redmond,
Have you heard anything about this supplement for hair loss? Its from Kerastase Densitive patented by Loreal for hair loss. I was wondering if you knew anything about this, from what I read it was a fairly new product. Also what is your opinion about spiro causing tumors in lab animals? Thanks

I checked out the Kerastase website. So far as I can tell it is not made by L'Oreal.
In general, nothing put on the scalp will help alopecia. The partial exception is minoxidil, which most readers of this forum will be aware is at best minimally effective, difficult to apply, and often irritating.
I do not recommend use of non-prescription remedies because there is no evidence that they help and so are a significant waste of money. Same with expensive laser treatments.
Early studies suggested that spironolactone causes cancer in rats but human studies do not. This issue was laid to rest decades ago but seems to be appearing online quite frequently now.
