Default Could I have a hair transplant at age 22?

My hairloss is the hairline and top the head, and does not seem to be happening in the crown or back of the head, and i can tell where the hairloss is going to stop?. Also there is little history of baldness in my family, no is completely bald and only hairline recession
I know the story of the you're too young to have a hair transplant but
Could a hair transplant be performed?

    Thanks a lot guys

You are very young to be considering hairline only work because you have no idea where your hairloss is heading, you may not see any thinning in the crown today but that could change drastically over the next few years and no one can predict that. Are you taking any medication to halt further loss?

You would be advised to tread very carefully but if you want to know your options then take some very clear photos from all angles, the type of photos you would need to take can be seen here

And submit these photos to some of the top doctors out there for an online consult.

    All the best

It's good that you're on propecia, thats definitely you first line of defense, blocking the DHT hormone that is causing your male pattern baldness to begin. You have to be patient to see if it works for you. It didn't for me so my doctor put me on Avodart, which is like propecia on steroids. It is not recommended that you start on Avodart, so it's good that you're trying propecia.

Stopping or substantially slowing your hairloss is the most important thing you can do because if you dont and you get a hair transplant now, you'll likely need another one in 5 years. You don't want to flush that money down the drain.

Try (I know it's hard) to not worry too much about your hairloss because it might then become a self-fulling prophecy (think: Uncle Oscar in Arrested Development season 3). I'd recommend for the time being going with a short hair style because it'll be easier to tell if you're getting thinner and take a photo of your head every other day so you have something to refer to so you can see if the propecia is doing the trick. Actual facts instead of paranoia brought on by too much worrying.
