    Default Question

Hey guys, new to the forum and been reading for a while. I have a quesition that could have been answered, but I didn't see it.

I t seems like there is much anxiety over taking propecia due to possible erection side effects. Is there any reason you couldn't take viagara while on propecia to counteract those affects? What I mean is, mediaclly, is there any reason, due to drug interactions?

And if anybody did just that, did it work?

So, nobody then? And if that's the case, then why not?

Chance are, the sexual side effects are probably psycho somatic in a lot fo cases (not saying they don't exist, but I think a lot of it is when you're told you MIGHT get a problem with your penis, no matter how small the chance, that seems to manifest itself way more often then it should, statistically speaking) and jsut the knowledge that you took a viagara would probably counteract that mental aspect of it.

Psychosomatic really? lol - what about the gyno? That psychosomatic too? DHT is several times the potency of testosterone, it is one of fundamental male androgens in the human body, believe me, no aspect of the side effects regarding this drug are psychosomatic. We have some awful current treatments, and thinking about Viagra to counteract one side effect is not a solution, your body will acclimatise to the use of Viagra also making your situation worse through dependency.

Well, considering I mentioned viagara as a potential fix for side affects, it is pretty obvious I was talking about impotence specifaclly, and not ALL propecia side effects. I'm clearly talking about the sexual side affects, which I would assume are the most distressing.

I'd rather have gyno then be unable to get it up.

Anyways, I didn't say the side affects of the drug are all psycho somatic. I said that if you are told that you may not be able to get it up on any drug, it is very possible that you may be so stressed out about it, that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. This would be psycho somatic.

I didn't think I needed to explain that in my original post.

Rather have Gyno than erectile dysfunction? Are you a Transvestite at all? Some Transvestites actually take Finasteride in the hope that it will kill the old fella, an grow them Permanent tits..

Jeez, what the hell is wrong with this board? I asked what I assumed was a pretty simple question. Based on reading the posts, it seemed to me that a lot of the angst of side effects was related to the sexual ones, most specifaclly impotence, and I asked about using viagara to fix that issue (if it indeed became one). I didn't really think the question was that ridiculous, and I didn't expect the two smart ass asnwers I've gotten.

To answer your question, of course I would rather have gyno then be unable to f*ck. That's a no brainer to me, and I think it also would be to any guy who currently uses their penis.

My opinion is based on my own experience. While I have never suffered impotence, I have had gyno before. I got it removed in an outpatient procedure that took about an hour, and now all I have is a small, barely noticable scar under my right nipple (for some reason, I never got in my left breast).

The procedure cost nothing (I live in Canada, and it was covered for medical reasons), was easy, quick and only required a day or so for recovery (the wound took a few weeks to heal, but I was at work the next day). In addition, because my whole breast gland was removed, I was told by my doctor that it cannot come back. For those reasons, yes, I would much rather have gyno then impotence. Any day of the week.
