    Question ht on nhs!!!!

..hello people, just joined today, and feel some comfort in knowing i'm not alone in my anxiety with mpb.
just find it mind blowing how much help you can get with self afflicted
problems like drink or drug abuse, violence, crime etc etc, but how there is
little empathy towards balding??? without paying through the nose.
granted this is a time old problem, and we have come along way, not forgetting the great skill and training envolved in tricology and ht surgery!!!..
......but why is no government addressing this problem in the form of training
and educating a new generation of surgeons, who can inturn reduce cost and waiting time for ht!!!!....
.......why should baldness be no less of a social problem than gang culture for example!!!...
i have every respect for the top surgeons out there, but i think there needs to be ten fold more!!, plus schools, tobacco and alcohol companies should advertise the damages to hair also....

Sorry but are you proposing Hair Transplants be offered on the UK National Health Service? I am sure the NHS can provide you with psychological aid in dealing with the issue of MPB via counselling, but i'd be seriously annoyed if my tax money was funding Hair Transplants, you would have a surge of complaints from other individuals stating; "well, if he gets a hair transplant, why cant I have a nose job? Or breast implants?". And why would the Government waste tax money on training public HT surgeons anyway? only 3% of balding men even seek help for their hair loss, perhaps in the future you should refrain from viewing the world through your own self-serving ideals.

I had one patient from New York a few years back that had some type of insurance policy that covered cosmetic procedures. I had to write a few letters, but he eventually got the procedure paid for by the insurance company.

By the way I have never heard of anything similar since then.
