Losing hair from the outer sides of the eyebrows is a common symptom of thyroid problems. Definitely get that checked out. I would advise you to ask for a full thyroid panel rather than just the bog standard TSH test which doesn't always give the full picture.
I'd also advise you not to place all your hope on your hairline recession being thyroid related and therefore curable with treatment. I don't believe thyroid-related hairloss (on the scalp) follows the male pattern.
