Common Reasons For Taking Fluvoxamine
Fluvoxamine is an antidepressant that belongs to the SSRI drug family. This class of drugs are very commonly prescribed for depression, anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders. It is often used as a mood stabilizer for people with bipolar disorder because it prevents mania but does not cause the lows associated with some other treatments.
Doctors prescribe Fluvoxamine to patients to regulate serotonin levels in the brain that may be low as a result of one or more conditions. If someone has been diagnosed with: generalized anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, panic attacks, eating disorders such as bulimia or compulsive eating; obsessive-compulsive disorder or social phobia then they may be prescribed Fluvoxamine.
