So i went in for a consultation. I was seriously impressed, she actually does all her own work. she has been in the industry for 20 years, and soo easy to talk to. now...its just a question to go through with it or not....
Its now been 6 months since I had my 1333 grafts FUT with Dr Marina Pizarro.
I am going to start a thread and share my photos but for now here is my encounter with her.
I called her clinic around Nov 12th after 20 years of waiting , researching , and finally seeing where my hair loss would end up.
At age 46 years old, and a NW 3 , I went to see her on Nov 17th to discuss and possibly do the procedure. Since I was already so familiar with expectations and had done so much research after an hours discussion, we agreed to proceed.
Her representative never asked me for any more money or try to 'upsell' me any new products. She was very friendly. They charged $3.5 per graft. I agreed to $4000 so roughly 1000 grafts.
The Dr came in and gave me a valium to calm my nerves. She then bought me lunch which was a nice touch. They then numbed my scalp with surprisingly painful injections, but this was normal. I didnt think I would be such a wimp about it
She then cut my scalp open and if I live to 100 I will never forget the sound it made. Her assistants took the grafts and dissected them.
After about 1 hr they implanted them all. they were very friendly and we all cracked jokes throughout the procedure.
She gave me some meds to take when I got home and a follow up to take the stitches out in 10 days.
Its been 6 months and the hair she transplanted looks fantastic. Its everything she said it would be . I even got onto finasteride. The only problem was that I drastically underestimated how many grafts I would need. So now I will need a second procedure. Probably 2500 this time to fill in the desired density.
I have no problems recommending Dr Pizarro. Her team was first class and I was very happy with the results.
