Dutasteride - AVODART
Does anyone take avodart? What are the results and what is the dosage? I recently decided to try Avodart because i felt Propecia was doing nothing for me. I was on Propecia for 6 months and decided to try Avodart. My Doc told me to take .5mg, 3times a week but I've read people take a pill a day. I know that dosage and results depend on each person but i wanted to know what dosage is most common because i feel 3 times a day is too little. Thanks

I'm on Avodart and have been for about 1 year. For most of that time, it did nothing for me (and also caused a number of sheds). However, in the past two weeks, the change has been significant.
I would suggest you need to first adjust to Avodart. Take one pill (0.5mg) every other day for about a month first, then 'load it up' and take two pills a day for about a month, then start using one a day. That's what I did.
I also use Revita shampoo, which I think is an excellent product.

Fixed by 35, How are you doing now with avodart? You said it didn't do much for you for almost a year, but you reported improvement. Im wondering how it's working for you now. Does you hair fall off still or did it halt it?

IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
The half life of Dutasteride is much longer than Finasteride. That is why many physicians are recommending it three times per week or every other day. You do not need to take it every day to keep a steady level of it in your system. As would be expected it probably works better than Finasteride in some patients and not as well in others.
