    Default Timing of HL

If a person's hair follicles are genetically programmed to be sensitive to DHT, why does the actual hair loss happen when it happens? Why is it that for some guys the HL starts in their teens/early 20's, while for others the first signs of it comes on in the 30's, 40's, or later?

I was pretty fortunate in that I made it pretty far into my 30's before I started to detect any significant HL.

    Anyone have insight into this?

    Thanks.

For the same reason that people experience diminished eyesight or hearing loss or wrinkles or dementia at different rates (or not at all) -- because aging processes affect everyone differently and can vary widely in timing and intensity from person to person.
