Default 16 years old and going bald :'(

Hey guys this is my 'introduce yourself' thing
Urm well about me? and sorry if i mess up on this forum thing never used an internet forum before.

I am a 6 ft 1 chilled out dude Well i was chilled out before i realised i was going to end up like my dad :P
Anyways urm earlier this year about july i noticed that my hairline and temples had receded quite far up my head tbh i have never really had full temples but this was literally shocking. Plus i developed a prominent widows peak and my hair became 'very' thin. It sucks and i know its silly so im prepared to get criticised and made to seem like an idiot when i say i've thought of suicide.

Recently however i have tried to take a more optimistic view on the matter and i've decided that i'll probably hit the gym a bit more etc and try to make the best of my body without my hair lol. Since i think i will shave it off when it becomes completely noticeable.

One of my main issues that worries me is my girlfriend, i don't know if she'd stay with me if i went bald? I love her a lot, like seriously not like a kiddy thing when you think you love them, i really do love her and i don't want to lose her no matter what, i mean if even if 'she' went bald i wouldn't leave her. She says she wouldn't leave if i did end up shaving my head etc and that she loves me but still :S

All my mom seems to have to say on the issue is that i have lovely green blue eyes and i'm a nice height and anyone who judges you just for not having hair is not worth it? But in this day and age i think you are judged by first looks anyway. and the second thing she says is forget about it and study.

I think one of the most destructive things i had to cope with was the fact that i used to be told that i was one of the best looking guys in the class etc, i have an athletic body, nice eyes *Sorry if i sound like a douchebag* and suddenly since my hairline has receded a bit im no longer 'that guy'. and it sucks a lot.

i still have a relatively full head of hair except i have quite a high hairline, my hairloss has only been going on this year and so it is quite recent, i was wondering if treatments would be any good for me like propecia and regaine? I mean if i could maintain the amount of hair i have that'd be great, i mean i'd keep taking them till i was 30 then i'd probably stop.

I was wondering also if i take propecia to maintain my hair then in a few years if histogen or another company comes through that'd be awesome, does anyone think they will? I mean i wouldn't have the money till i leave uni and i'd be about 25 by then since i want to go into med which is a 5 year course. so thats like 9 years? They'd be out in 9 years right?

Its been a dream of mine to do some modelling etc also just as a side thing you know? And so yeah i want to do that after uni so hopefully a cure will be out by then

So yeah sorry for going on so long, replies or just anything really will be appreciated.
Its really hard going through hairloss at this age when you see everyone else in your class with straight hairlines and full temples, it just seems to break you down.
And tbh i know way more about balding and DHT now than i'd ever want to.

I guess one of the most important things is my girlfriend too.

so yeah thanks for reading this far if you did, im really depressed, help me out? please, someone.

    Thanks.
    Sid.

Plus i can feel my scalp on my crown area and it is very disconcerting,
oh and i do not have any other medical issues contributing towards this, it is MPB.

    thanks,

    Heya,

Well like I have said before on here and I am sure a few people will agree, if you think you have a hair problem now or in the future then see a specialist about it and start doing something sooner rather then later. There are options out there Rogaine, Propecia, Good Life Style, Transplants etc and perhaps new things in the future. I would recommend seeing someone and asking them the steps you take.

The problem with hairloss is there is no guide and it effects everyone in different ways. Some people will have perfect hair all their lives, some will go bald very early and some will struggle all their lives to keep it. Some will respond to treatments very well and some will not. My best advice is to go through the forums, see some of your options and also talk to someone knowledgable in this area.

As for shaving your head, some are fine with that, some guys I think actually look quite good with a shaved head, It seems to me some people just have better shaped heads that make shaved heads look better, mine personally is quite uneven and i dont think i would look that great with shaved head... its a personal choice

As for your girlfriend leaving you, well your mom is right in my opinion if she really loves you then yeah leaving you cause you lost your hair would be a pretty shallow thing. Being of a younger age she might have a harder time with it then a more mature lady to deal with, but who knows it would be case by case thing.

I think on the norm if a women was looking for a potential new guy to date I think having a beautiful head of hair would be a bonus to her but I don't think it would rule out the bald guy. I have lots of bald friends with terrific girlfriends and wives. Many girls in my personal experience love confidence and that is where we might lose the battle. IF you are losing your hair you might also be losing your confidence which would reflect in your ability to pick up girls, we have all had that day where we are having a GOOD HAIR DAY, you just got a great haircut or it just turned out the way you wanted it, dont you feel more confident and on top of the world..... then you have a bad day with a terrible hair cut for instance and you just want to run and hide and keep to yourself.

    Kind of rambling

so 1. See Someone about your loss. 2. Start Early to try to keep as much as you can. 3. If she leaves you because of your hair she aint worth it anyway and there are many girls out there that just want a good man and are not interested in superficial things like hair
    good luck

Hmm i saw the dermatologist around about when it started but he said it didn't look like mpb/androgenic alopecia at the time, however he suggested to keep an eye on it. After these few month of keeping my eye on it and seeing my shredding increase and my hairline move further up i've decided that i should do something about it before my self esteem is in more tatters that Tarzan's clothing.

so if i start now since it is still my first year of the hair loss i could primarily keep the amount of hair i have on my head for say 10 years? Most medications or treatments say they work better in people who start early in on their loss. Say i took propecia and regaine/rogaine (minoxidil) at the same time (starting now) this should sort out the problem right? It would make the hairs that i have thicker while maintaining the amount of hairs that i already have and stablising hairloss until something like histogen's HSC comes out?

I reaaally don't want to lose my remaining hair at this age i wouldn't mind even if it started when i am 26 -28 years old, but not at 16. These are supposed to be the years i remember for being some of the best in my life, not the ones i remember for hair loss.

Also i visit the gym a lot now like 3 - 4 times a week for 1 and a half hour sessions using heavy weights, would this adversely effect the effectiveness of propecia? Since my testosterone levels would increase?

    Thanks,
    Sid

I weight lift for the last 15 years, dont think it contributes to my hair, but I guess that would be a question for the doctors on here perhaps.

As for your hair and using propecia and rogaine... As I stated before there is no sure thing with either. Some people respond very well to one or both of these treatments others do not. I am saying if you are losing it, best start now and hope for the best..... propecia, rogaine etc is better then doing nothing at all.... i hope it works for you but i dont want u coming back angry at me if it does not.... both of these methods have been proven to grow and maintain hair to some degree, the degree depends on the individual person unfortunately. I wish u luck though.

Yes that is a typical story you hear and it does happen, never happened to me, and I am sure we hear more failure stories then success.. a guy that isnt having ED problems probably wont go to the news about it... I am not trying to downplay it, just saying not everyone is going to get ED, but there will be some I am sure

Here are some pictures i took, they really don't do the thinning of my hair justice as i had greased my hair that day to make it seem thicker =/

+ I am really scared of the side effects of propecia/fin now =/ ecspecially to do with the breasts and stuff and the ED.

It's impossible to tell whether you're thinning or not (your hair looks thick in the photos) but I don't see any recession at all. Your hairline looks perfect.

    Unhappy

My hair has thinned out a lot, i had grease on my hair during the photo which made it look thicker =/ And my hair line had been pushed very far back in the corners creating a prominent widows peak even though i shaved the tip of it off. What can i take to maintain my hair apart from propecia as i have sort of gone off the idea due to the sides?
