    Nioxin?

Anybody know anything about Nioxin #2? My hair stylist recommended it for me and said that she has seen it work.

I currently use proscar and rogaine.

    Thanks

Nioxin works by removing the sebum from the scalp. Sebum builds up at the base of the hair shaft and this increases the DHT level and DHT is what is causing your male pattern baldness. The Hair club uses a similar product in their extreme hair therapy program. I think it is beneficial but not a cure for baldness. Rogaine and Propecia are the only FDA approved treatments that have been clinically shown to regrow hair. Go ahead and use the dioxin it can't hurt but be aware that it will not make hair grow where there is no hair. Your options are rogaine, propecia, and hair transplants. That's it.

I don't know if it has any affect at all. I've used the product on two different occasions, but I was also using other hairloss products at the time, so was unable to really determine if Nioxin was beneficial.

I will say this. It leaves your scalp with a tingling sensation. I don't know what that sensation means, but you definitely feel like something is happening. Also, your hair feels super soft afterwards.

almost all hair stylist recommend nioxin or some other shampoo. they usually sell it at the salon. it may improve your thinning hair but it's not a effective treatment for MPB.
