15 and balding please help me!!
ok so im 16 and ive been loosing my hair since literally 13 years old. I lost ALOT in my crown area, so i always wear a hat to school cause my scalp shows completly! its so embarassing! My mom is loosing her hair and so is my dad, so is it genetic? i also went through puberty VERY early so could that be it? and as a child around 10 until now, ive had alotta stress issues that damaged my stomach and almost gave me a ulcer. People make fun of me at school infront of girls and its horrrible

Definitely feel for you man....
Is there any chance = question for doctors here = that this young man could use propecia or similar? Or is he too young?
I also lost my hair early. Now I am in my 40s and have had no hair more than half my life. All I can tell you is: it does get better and people do grow up and learn to accept you (and not even pay attention to the hair loss). And you will also learn to accept yourself; it takes time, but believe me, you can come to terms with this and be happy.

It's somewhat disconcerting that your whole family are losing hair and I'd definitely go to the doctor to be on the safe side.
On a positive note, a cure to this curse is getting closer and I'd be very surprised if you didn't have a full head of hair again before you reach your mid 20s.
Also, don't feel pressured by others into 'accepting' hair loss. It's okay, and normal, to hate it.

For clarification, not that I owe an explanation mind you, I am not trying to convince our young friend to accept it. My point is, you have to accept yourself - hairy or not hairy - and that eventually you can come to terms with whatever your ultimate situation will be.

Are you losing hair just in the crown region or all over your scalp? Are there multiple patches of hair loss? There's a chance that you are not simply experiencing male pattern baldness (as 13 is very young for that to present). I would certainly encourage you to visit a family doctor, dermatologist or hair loss specialist. I'm extremely sorry that you are dealing with this, as well as cruelty at school- 16 is a difficult age, even without the added stress of hair loss!

chin up mate, i promise you this will pass, there will be a day soon where its either fixed, or it just doesnt hurt any more and you are happy. life is all about perspective, count your blessings and look at the ones around you less fortunate.
no ones telling you to be sad, i understand comletley, i get down sometimes, but its all about perspective understand?
things will be bright tomorrow

@CIT Girl: Does your doctor prescribe propecia/similar for patients as young as 16? I am curious because I know of a similar case (16 yr old losing hair) and have heard that fin should not be used, but this opinion was not based on acutal experience from prescribing the medicine. Just wondering if you had any insight to this and if our friend here happens to have androgenic alopecia, this information will also help. Thanks!
