IAHRS Recommended Hair Transplant Surgeon
I agree that the sooner you see a Dermatologist or Hair Restoration physician the sooner you may get some relief. In many cases an exact diagnosis is difficult to obtain and the treatments are a series of trial and error. If one treatment does not work after a week or two then it is time to try something else. What has the physician that performed you HT procedure suggested?

The work was performed by a reputable company (Farjo).
Should I book an appointment with a dermatologist?
Yes the grafts are firmly rooted in your scalp at six months post-op. It sounds to me like your scap needs a good cleansing. It cannot hurt to see a derm to see if there is anything else causing this condition.

Mick (Farjo clinic in Manchester) suggested using T-Gel and their own conditioner and scalp tonic.

Are you sure about this? The small tufts of hair with bits of scalp attached are concerning me somewhat.

I hope it is something trivial like that. Thanks again for the replies.

I have picked off similar sized flakes before but they were not flaking off easily. I had to kind of peel/pick them off with a rigid tool.
Extra Strength Denorex has stopped most of my dandruff but I see a lot still there. I think my itching might be due to the flakes that just aren't coming off. I think I definitely have some inflammation though as the redness and pitting has died down a lot since the weather dropped below 0°C.
Other shampoos seem to just irritate the affected areas for me. Even T-Gel. I'm giving it a few more weeks though.

No hair stuck to them but I had to pull it up along all the hairs as the hair grew through the skin. So the flake had a bunch of holes all over. I suppose if you had really oily skin and weak miniaturizing hair it might just come loose along with the flake.

barry77,
Yes the grafts are firmly in place at six months post-op. The hair you are seeing is no doubt just shed hair. Has your situation improved any or did you see a derm?

Thanks for your reply. I really hope that is the case. It's been very distressing combing what appears to be grafts out of my hair after spending most of 2010 in hiding. (And having also sold my car to fund the work).
Situation not improved. Am meeting with Farjo on the 25th of this month.
