Looking for creating ways of distorting/blurring/breaking up FUT scar

Hi all - quick recap: 2000 FUT about a dozen years ago. Still pretty bald, now with a nice long scar. Looking to keep my hair as close as possible. Attempted shaving a couple time and took action both times:

-First time I had SMP done, which helped, but still pretty noticeable.
-Second time I had a 300 graft FUE procedure done, this one about two years ago. Also helped, even got to a place where I was kind of comfortable with it, but was still very self conscious of it and ultimately retreated back to my #3 guard.

Anyway, here’s what I’m wondering - has anybody done anything creative beyond just SMP or FUE into the entire scar? Specifically something to break up or blur the line? Couple things come to mind:

    1. Do another small FUE but remove the hairs directly in, above, and below the scar in an attempt to blur or distort it. The hairs that have grown back through the scar (trico closure) are thicker, darker, and mostly at a different angle. Thinking removing some of these - even in one section - may help distort the line.

    2. See if a doc can do a small (1 inch or less) FUT - basically cut out a very small section of the scar as a means to break it up. Lot of people have small visible scars on their shaved heads. As you can see, when shaved my scar actually looks darker than the rest.... Unsure if that’s old and now faded SMP from 6 years ago? Just the scar tissue? Dunno.

    3. Something else?????

My issue is that it’s just a long, straight, unnatural line. And its not always visible skin or scar tissue - in many places its darker due to thicker hairs that have grown through.

There are sections of the scar that I’m OK with at certain lengths (left side when very short, right side when #1 guard, middle always a problem).

If anybody has thoughts on attacking just part of the scar I’d love to hear it.

From what I’m told by docs who have seen it, I have a “good” scar. And each time I’ve had something done to it there has been improvement. But to me there’s still room for improvement.

I know nothing is going to erase it (besides a time machine), just trying to find a place I can get comfortable with. Thanks in advance for the input.

No guard, clippers extended though (is that a .5 guard??)

I'm good with the whole left 1/3rd here!

But the rest could use some help. Even just to break it up

    #2
With the #1 guard I can definitely live with the entire right 1/3.

With the #.5 guard I can definitely live with the entire left 1/3. And I'd love to find a way to stay that short if possible.

Just trying to get creative and see if anybody has thoughts on attacking just part of the scar as a means to break up that long, linear, line. Thanks all
