    Diffuse Patterned Alopecia- Hair Transplant-Pic

I am a 27 year old with the diffuse patterned alopecia. I have a receded temples, but a strong forelock. I have been taking propecia which has slowed/stopped hair loss. Eventually the thinned out hairs will fall out. The hairs right behind the forelock are very thin( notice the light color).

The doctor wants to add 2000 grafts to add to density and fill the temples. I read somewhere that DPA patients can still benefit as the thinned hair will serve as the new hairs grow in.

Can a doctor tell me if makes sense to do a transplant now or wait later?

It could be an option for you as long as you approach things conservatively. I would recommend only having work done in the frontal area to begin with and make sure when designing the lateral aspects of the hairline that you and your doctor make sure that it will still look appropriate if you have some recession in the front portion of the forelock later in life.
