Default My Story; A 21-Year Old

    Greetings,

I'm a 21 year male who started noticing hair loss around the age of 19. Over the last six months either I became consciously aware of it or my hair has dramatically started to fall faster than before. It's really disheartening especially at this age being in college and all. Girls are stupendously shallow so it's very daunting. I've noticed I have become more depressed from this whole ordeal.

I have been taking some measures against it by using 5% Minoxidil twice a day. This is my second week so it's hard to tell any progress so far. A few months back I went to the dermatologist and he gave me a prescription for 1mg of Propecia. I was very excited after he had told me that in junction with Rogaine there have been significant results, however, after stumbling across several boards, articles, videos stating the risks of Propecia I opted to not use it.

I hope that if I can't regrow what I've lost that I can keep what I still have. I've noticed several of those thickening hair sprays on Amazon. I'm going to give it a shot also.

I'm also considering getting this shampoo as well:http://www.amazon.com/DS-Laboratorie...0995619&sr=1-1

Maybe none of these things work, but considering the price, the placebo effect might stimulate some confidence.

I welcome any comments, suggestions/recommendations, etc

i would definitely say give propecia a shot...i would say it has definitely worked for me considering i have around 100% of my vertex which is what it says it works for, hairline is receding a bit and thinning a little up top though...ironically i am thinking i might be experiencing a few side effects at the moment so i am going to discontinue for a few weeks to see how it goes...i have been using it for about 5 years...it will at least give u some hope/confidence if anything

If you go into taking propecia expecting sides, you will get them.

I'm from South America, and have seen a lot of videos (In spanish and english) of successful finasteride - treatment stories without any problem.
I've also read a lot of studies and everything shows that Finasteride is one of the best tratments for MPB out there.
I advice you to give it a try while is early, and if you have very bad sides you can drop it.
But think, in the past there was no chance for a person to treat hair loss. Nowadays we have some possibilities and the future seems more promicing, so it's worth keeping what you have.

Trying Fin isn’t a terrible idea but I disagree with people who say the side effects are a product of your mindset. I can tell you from personal experience that my side effects were very physically real. They went away for the most part after a month or two but it wasn’t pleasant. If you feel sides, stop immediately.
