Do I have a receding hairline?

Im only eighteen and I believe i have a receding hairline and if i do what should i do about it?

What can you do ?

I've always felt that if your destined to lose your hair, there isn't much you can do.
You can try meds but once you stop taking them then hairloss continues

Its best to try and accept it and learn to live with it.

Start cutting your hair short, then shorter etc ....get used to it .

looks like recession. i'd start propecia. that could stop it. also, there are prp injections mixed with acell that have been successful that Dr. Gary Hitzig is doing. good luck

Sorry, but saying "learn to live with it" to an 18-year-old is horrible advice. If you have very aggressive male pattern hair loss, then yes eventually you will lose your hair even with current available treatments. However, if you get on Propecia now, you will probably stop the loss for a long time or at least slow it down considerably.

I started seeing minor recession when I was 19, started Propecia when I was 20 and maintained the hair of a teenager until 33. Even after stopping the drug 6 months ago, my hair is doing pretty good. One of my buddies was noticeably thinning at 16, started Propecia in his 20's and has more hair now at 34 then he did 10 years ago. The drug works and does not cause side effects for the vast majority of people who take it. And while I appreciate the concerns about long-term use, we are finally on the cusp of some breakthroughs that will probably allow younger guys to stop the meds in a few years.

If you want the advice of someone who has been in your shoes, go to a doctor and start taking Propecia now. Then, forget about your hair loss, stay off the internet, and focus your energy on more important things like women and college.

Propecia stops hair loss for most people and can regrow it too. You would have a better chance of regrowing than most because your hair loss is recent.
If you do use propecia, make sure you use the smallest amount you need ( a quarter of a tablet is supposed to work nearly as well as a full tablet).
Also, buy some nizoral shampoo and use three times a week. Minoxidil is also proven to regrow hair.
Both propecia and minoxidil can have side effects, so its best to start modestly.... then you can always 'bump up' the dose if the products stop working and you feel no side effects from them.

I regrew most of what I lost. The main thing is stopping the loss. Once you get out of high school, most guys you'll be around will have a slightly higher hairline and you probably won't be so self conscious about it. Almost all men get a little recession as they get older, even if they are not balding. If you are really concerned about regrowth, Rogaine also works pretty well for that. However, and again I speak from experience, you'll probably shed a lot when you start Rogaine and you'll shed again if you ever stop. If I had it to do over, I would have never messed with that stuff.
