Start minoxidil at 51? Looking for some opinions from those in a similar situation

Hello, I'm a soon to be 51 year old male, have been taking oral finasteride (5mg, quartered, so 1.25mg a day) for 20 years now. I've never used minoxidil before nor taken any other medication, it's just been finasteride, which I think has worked well for me.

I'm looking for some opinions from hopefully those in a similar situation, namely age and having been only on finasteride for some time and perhaps have added minoxidil to your treatment.

I've never used minoxidil before simply because the application seems like a pain and I've read where it leaves your hair greasy. I've obviously never tried the foam version, but I'm aware of it. Plus, once you start, you can't stop without losing anything you might have gained.

I'm looking to perhaps start it but of course I'm wondering if it'll even be worth it. I'm looking to see if it will add some growth/density on the top of my head. I'm not concerned about the hairline or temples or even the crown.

Wondering if there are folks here who have started minoxidil around 50.

What sort of results have you achieved?
What specific product are you using and how often do you apply it?
    Where do you get it?
    Would you generally recommend it?
What would any downsides potentially be?

Would love to hear some experiences and recommendations.

Ive been using Minoxidil 10% (morning), RU58841 (night) and Finasteride since 2014. No side effect so far.
