Default Restarting Minoxdil after 5 months

Anyone who has stopped Minoxidil after several months and restarting again came back with good results?

I was so stupid to hav stopped using Minoxidil, now my hairloss is so much worse than before...and i ve jus restarted using it and my initial shedding is pretty serious...does anyone know if u restart Minoxidil it will help regain the hair u ve lost again?

Its a real unknown as very much an individual thing. I would recommend however sticking with it and seeing it thru this time rather than stop/start - This can cause drastic shedding.

    Hey aiyosh,

I just experienced the same thing. I'm dying to know if anyone ever came back with results after restarting minox. Would love to hear your story.

    Thanks!

Hey! I don't think you're stupid to have stopped. Eventually it stops becoming as potent anyways. I think it may be time to look into better solutions. Because I took the same path as you, but instead of going back- I found new options and solved my hair loss.

Step 1- Finasteride. Just swallow 1 pill a day, hasn't caused side effects. Super simple, easy, and effective. (really kicks in after a year)
Step 2- FUE hair transplant- Best decision of my life. Just had to do a lot of research on which Doc to choose.

    Good luck! Keep me updated.

    Unhappy

I was almost 17 and half year old when i noticed my mphairloss , went to the dermatologist, got finasteride and minox. Combo as a solution . My condition was not so bad , but had diffused thinning all over ,which decreased my hair density heavily.

When i started ,i noticed the results very fast , my hair started getting thicker, density improved and i followed the regimen sincerely for 6-7 months .....and then i lost my mind....i quit minox. and just relied on finasteride thinking a bullshit theory that my hair follicles may have gotten thicker ,so no need of minox. ,finasteride can maintain everything.

After leaving minoxidil , until few weeks nothing seriois happened but as the weeks passed my condition started getting worse and worse, but i kept telling myself that it was just my scalp adjust to my new hair cycle....but it wasn't true.

My hair kept thinning , when my scalp was now showing , not bald spots as i m a diffused thinner.(this period was about 3-4 months ).

Then i started again and now it is the starting of 3 month again with minoxidil, my right side and my nape region has thinned significantly, but mphl targets forehead and crown so this is happening can anyone explain.

Pic 1. Gain from minoxidil (2 pics )(starting 1-6 months)

Pic 2. Losing gains of minoxidil(1 pic )( when i quit minox. 3-4 months)

Pic 3. Again after restarting minoxidil (pI was almost 17 and half year old when i noticed my mphairloss , went to the dermatologist, got finasteride and minox. Combo as a solution . My condition was not so bad , but had diffused thinning all over ,which decreased my hair density heavily.

Give your opinion for my condition (thinning left side) please.
