People really shouldn't use avodart for hair loss... Too often do I hear bad stories of some sort.

There are tons of topical antiandrogens that work just fine if you need something extra with propecia.

Spironolactone, fluridil and even more stuff.

But I don't know the answer to your q. Good luck though

Seems to me that finasteride would still be reducing your DHT, which means you'll be losing less hair than if you were on nothing at all. But you may lose some of the results you've gotten from dutasteride.
Any doctors here able to comment on this?

Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't topical antiandorgens like fluridil just as experimental and prone to unwanted side effects as Avodart? I have considered trying some of them, but I'm a bit concerned.

You do have a point. But I still think topical antiandrogens are worth exploring before dutasteride.

I think Fluridil gives me mental side effects. Gives me brain fog. I am pretty sure of it. Sprio doesn't give me any sides at all.

Truth is we really are ****ed. lol. But we have to try something. Using finasteride and spiro lotion on the hairline should be enough for most people though. Especially if u use a ketoconazole shampoo etc.

Dutasteride you might shed... u might have to stay on it...you might get side effects for months...really isn't worth it for me.

Otherwise id jump right on it.

I think I might try some of those topicals before too long, especially since I prefer not to use minoxidil (tried it and experienced some unfortunate side effects, so I dropped it from my regimen). I've heard of other people seeing improvement with treatments like this, too.

May I ask when you started the topical antiandrogens? And when you noticed them working?

i dont know about this "shed" everyone claims with dutasteride. I've been on it, never seen a shed.

however it doesnt work on me, just like finasteride. That must be way. My hair is resistant to this stuff.

I'm taking both finasteride AND dutasteride, doesnt affect libido either.

I have been taking Avodart for about a year now. The most dramatic side affect has been that I now have an almost full head of hair. Prior to the Avodart therapy I was pretty bald on top and thinning on the sides. My barber has been amazed, as have I.
