Default What type of Dr. should I look for?

I'm 32, I've always thick and several hair and never suffer from thin hair. My mom familiy has it like me and all my uncles still have all their hair healthy. From my dad I don't really now, my father is 65 and he's not bald at all, however He always have had his hair very fine but at his age He's very good I guess, my brother is 5 years older than me and he's got my father hair type kind of, thin.

I came to USA when I was 29, in august 2008, I started to notice my hair was thining in 2009, in the second part of that year when the economy colapsed I was ver stressed trying to kept my job and by that time I saw the front left side of my head lossing some hair, so I started using Rogaine, I really don't know if that helped me out.

For all the 2009 and until last month that was all, however I still feeling my hair thinning in some way but I could use my hair in any style withouth major problems.

Last month I cut my hair I noticed I have practically all left side of my head I wouldn't say falling but I don't understand why I'm seeing that lack of hair, I guess it's thinning. I'm very worried, I can't belive it happened so fast, I'd say in the past 2 months. I've read it could be just temporal, I recently had a major surgery in my knee in April this year and could be that the reasson, also I still in a very stressfull situation since november 2009 and for the lasts months after my surgery has increased.

What type of Dr. should I go? I've being searching for a dermatologist but all I've seen seems just to skin illness like acne. All the hair loss specialist I've found also seems to be for transplants. If I go to any dermatologist He should be able to help me find out the origin of my problem and give me some treatment?

I do live in Miami area.

    thanks a lot for reading.

There are several non surgical options to treat hair loss and the help with prevention of hair loss. You need to contact a hair restoration physician and let them know that you would prefer to try non surgical options before considering hair transplantation. I practice in Boca Raton which is about 45 minutes from Miami. However, there are also several reputable doctors in the Miami area including Dr. Epstein and Dr. Nusbaum.
