Hey Footymad. I meant to address some of your shampoo questions as well.
I personally wouldn't recommend using ketoconazole (Nizoral) shampoo more often than every other day. From what I've read, using it every 24 hours won't increase effectiveness against MPB, and might increase scalp irritation also. If you feel you must wash your hair every day (I understand clean hair usually looks fuller and healthier), try using a mild shampoo on days you don't use Nizoral.
I've been using Vichy Dercos w/ aminexil every other day (alternating with Nizoral), and it seems gentle on my scalp, not to mention my hair looks pretty damn good after being freshly washed with the stuff. Dercos shampoo also claims to fight hair loss, but I can't vouch for that - for all I know, it does absolutely nothing for MPB.

BTW. If you're interested in Nizoral, I would definitely go for the 2% prescription, which I have used for some time now.
