Close shave?

Recently shaved head. Is there early balding on top or is it just a bad cut?

It was my first time shaving it and I may have cut it shorter than expected

It's difficult to tell because it could be lighting. However it may be thinning because it's always easier to see thinning with shorter hair than it is long. I'd suggest shaving it and owning it.
