Default Switching from Propecia to Rogaine

    Switching from Propecia to Rogaine?
I have been on propecia for 3 years now with great results, however I have been starting to suffer bad side effects(70% erection, slight gyno) . I am going to have to come off it and wondering if rogaine will be effective for holding onto my hair? Don't care so much about growing new hair but just wondering if it will keep my current crop? Also been wondering if 3 times a day would be more effective?

I am very shocked I got side effects from Propecia I was on it for 3 years and before that I had a 1 year break and was on it for 2 years. Now I am thinking of coming off due to sides for 6 months and then starting again only with smaller dose and every second day. What does everyone think.

    Cheers

    Hi,
They act differently. Propecia blocks DHT minoxidil is a regrowth agent yet doesnt block the evil mr DHT.

3 times aday would be OVER kill. i would advise not. You will shed like mad IMHO.

I personally would not come off propecia completely and try not let your head rule the situ. Introduce minox (foam) every day, once a day. Also drop propecia down to 1mg every 3 days for a month and see how you go, if good, build up to 1mg every other day and if good roll with that.

The mind is a powerfull tool

This is what i would do.

That is unusual to develop serious side effects after using the medication for as long as you have. I agree that you may want to try every other day before totally discontinuing medication. Sometime a estrogen blocker used at the same time will help combat the gyno,
