Default Diffuse Aga + malessezia, yeast overgrowth.

Hi. I hope you're all doing well. Just thought I'd share my story with everyone and see if there's anyone who's battling the same problem and maybe my experience could help someone as well i. I started losing my hair around 5 years ago after going through a traumatic event in my life. I was losing hair all over my head along with my eyebrows.Decided to see a dermatologist. After a quick appointment she diagnosed me with male pattern baldness and told me to buy minoxidil, didn't want to write me a prescription for fin and just said that the side effects are too dangerous. I used minoxidil only for a short period of time and then stopped. I kept on reading and educating myself about treating aga and finally decided to give fin a go. Unfortunately after a couple of weeks of taking fin, lowering dosage regularly to see if it would help I had to stop. I suffered balls ache, low libido and at the beginning couldn't get erection at all so it was too obvious that I wasn't the best candidate. To be honest to this day I think that my sex life has been affected in some way. I don't think as horny as before taking fin and just can feel the difference. After failure with fin I decided to let the nature take its course, I lost some hair in a few months but it didn't really bother me as I still had a lot. One day I noticed that my gf started to loose some hair as well, we decided to go and see a dermatologist togheter. When she examined my scalp she told me I had a really bad yeast overgrowth and prescribed me Itraconazole and advised me to go on a sugar, yeast free, low carb diet. This is when I first halted my hairloss all together, when I was on itraconazole and the diet I hardly had any shedding, my scalp again became very soft and clean. Unfortunately I had to stop taking the pills after around 2 weeks as I wast getting side effects, liver pain, very dark urine, dizziness. This happened around 2 years ago, every since then I've seen a lot of doctors, specialist and have been losing my hair on and off depending how disciplined I was. At the moment I dermaroll(0,5mm)and then essential oils tea tree oil, peppermint, lavender) diluted in grapeseed oil. I do it every second day,. It greatly reduces my shedding and dandruff but don't think it regrows any hair. I also have to follow a strict died and always watch for any signs like sheding, dandruff, eyebrow fall out etc. I've done a few tests along the way as well. I did a sibo test which was negative but also did a comprehensive still tests which showed that I had yeast overgrowth. If I just follow a normal yeast free, candida diet It just doesn't work as my body reacts badly to some food which should be safe on such diet like coconut flour, cauliflower. So I had to experiment a lot with my diet and generally now eat low foodmap products which are also low in carbs and it does help with reducing, eliminating shedding and dandruff. I plan on expanding my routine shortly and combat my hair loss from a couple different angles.I'll start daily massages shortly, buy llt helmet, derma roll (1.5mm)once every 3-4weeks and start applying spiro cream or topical fin. I will also start taking another antifungal medicine, just waiting for some blood tests to come back. I'd never thought I'd loose my hair until I happened around when I was 30.Especially that I don't have any relatives in my family who have suffered hairloss all of them have full heads of hair. My hair shafts also seem to minatiruzie in a wierd pattern, they grow long but become nearly transparent over time and its not very localised, even at the back of my head I have miniaturized hair. My girlfriend is now also suffering from massive hair loss which is veryyy strange.. What are the odds of both of us losing hair especially that she noticed a difference in her hair texture, scalp condition a year after we had met. From my observation it is clear to me that somehow I got invaded my some nasty yeast, bacteria when my body was very weakend due to stress, ciagertes alcohol etc. I then somehow passed this crap on my giflriend and we are now suffering from that. I still haven't given up my hope but it's just as you all now very difficult especially thst most doctors are just clueless and will send you off witha standard diagnosis and same medicine.
