Are white beard hairs more difficult to successfully transplant to scalp?

I want to get some beard hair transplants to scalp. My beard is mostly white, with perhaps 30% black hairs. Are the white hairs more difficult for the surgeon to successfully extract, maybe because he can’t see the roots against white skin as well as he can see the black hairs?

Scalp hair is mostly dark so I might have to dye the beard hairs.

Hi Moosegel,

There should be no issue with hair colour when extracting grafts. If there is a visibility issue then the hair can be dyed regardless off where the extraction source is.

Thanks Shera. Are you talking about dying the hair before extraction or after transplantation?

I am talking about any difficulty the surgeon might have visualizing the root if it is white not black, therefore cannot see the hair that he is extracting?

I know that I can dye the hair after it grows in.

Hi, I was talking about dying the hairs just prior to surgery to make them more visible, many clinics do this as a matter of course. The surgery team should be wearing magnifiers too.
