How to remove tape from lace?

The bottom side of tape - the one attached to scalp is loose but the one attached to the lace is still strong.

I know you're supposed to put lace release but I feel like it dried out the hair too much and it gets hard to handle the wig.

So do you guys dip it into lace, or dip it into c22? or both? Or do you just spray lace release on it and wait few minutes and then pull it off?
