    Silly question....

    Please don’t laugh, but when follicles are transplanted from the donor area to their new home elsewhere on the scalp, I assume that the site where it came from remains empty and the original doesn’t grow back again.

    ...so you couldn’t go back to the same donor site again and take more from the same exact spot.

    You are correct. It it transplanted.moved.

    If you transplant a heart / kidney or other body organ for example it doesn’t grow back from where it was taken from ;-)
